This code of conduct (the “Code of Conduct”) is incorporated into our Terms of Service (found at https://decrypt.co/terms-of-service) and governs your use of our Site, Service and third-party forums or communities affiliated with our Site and Service. Capitalized terms not otherwise defined in this Code of Conduct shall have the meaning set forth in our Terms of Service.

You shall not:

  1. access, store, distribute or transmit during the course of your participation, any thing or device (including any software, code, file or program) which may:
    1. prevent, impair or otherwise adversely affect the operation of any computer software, hardware or network, any telecommunications service, equipment or network or any other service or device;
    2. prevent, impair or otherwise adversely affect access to or the operation of any program or data, including the reliability of any program or data (whether by re-arranging, altering or erasing the program or data in whole or part or otherwise); or
    3. adversely affect the user experience, including worms, trojan horses, viruses and other similar things or devices;
  2. access, store, distribute or transmit any material that:
    1. is unlawful, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, infringing, harassing, threatening, or is racially or ethnically offensive;
    2. facilitates illegal activity or otherwise incites the abuse or harassment of others;
    3. depicts sexually explicit images or promotes child sexual exploitation;
    4. promotes unlawful violence;
    5. threatens suicide or self-harm;
    6. is discriminatory based on race, gender, color, religious belief, sexual orientation, disability;
    7. is otherwise illegal or causes damage or injury to any person or property.
    8. is fraudulent or otherwise contains any false or misleading information;
    9. impersonates another person without the impersonated person’s consent;
    10. Decrypt considers, in is sole discretion, is spam; or
    11. violates or encourages violating the legal rights of others.
  3. distribute viruses, worms, hoaxes, corrupted files, or other harmful technologies;
  4. impersonate others in an attempt to deceive Decrypt or Members;
  5. make false statements to Decrypt customer support or Members;
  6. breach or circumvent any applicable laws;
  7. reproduce, perform, display, distribute, reverse engineer or prepare derivative works from any content that does not belong to you without prior written permission from the party that has the legal right to license such use;
  8. plagiarize, as determined by Decrypt in its sole discretion, responses from outside of Decrypt without appropriate citation;
  9. infringe or make any unauthorized use of our intellectual property rights, including those with respect to our trademarks, or those of any third party in relation to your use of the sites;
  10. damage, disable, overburden, impair or compromise our security or interfere with Members;
  11. attempt to bypass, avoid, interfere with or circumvent any intellectual property or proprietary notice; or take any action that Decrypt otherwise finds, in its sole discretion, is damaging to Decrypt, the Service, Members, or Decrypt’s business relationships or brand.
